A Sunny Day in February

Today is February 5th. We had snow days last week and there is still snow on the ground. Normally I’d be sporting a big puffy coat and massive scarf wrapped up to my nose. But not today, today was 71 degrees! I still can’t believe it! I’ve been cooped up inside all winter but today I stepped out of work to take a walk. And it was INCREDIBLE. I took off my coat, looked up at the bright blue sky and felt the warm sun beat against my face. It seemed like years since I’d felt this kind of weather and the rays of sun on my skin (though really it had only been a couple of months). As I walked I was filled with peace, happiness and gratitude. I soaked in this beautiful moment.

As I looked up to the bright sun poking out behind the empty tree branches I thought of Sunshine for Single Moms. This was exactly where the name had come from and why it was created . Sometimes as single moms life can feel dark and cold, and the challenges never ending. But then the sun peaks through. You see it, you feel it, and it changes everything. The warm rays of the bright sun make you feel renewed, hopeful and happy again. You know it will be ok; with the shining light you will make it through. The sun warms, illuminates and brightens everything it touches.

I hope Sunshine for Single Moms can be that bright light for you; a place for regular encouragement to keep going and empowerment to live your very best life. But more than that I hope you can see God as that beautiful bright light in your life! Because His light truly changes everything.
